Château de Fourques

Château de Fourque is an authentic wine estate, renowned for its exquisite wines and enchanting historic heritage.

The history of Château de Fourques dates back to the 12th century. The castle was then known as the ‘Mas de Carascaude' (or seigneury of Carescauses).

Ever since, the estate has been dedicated to vine growing.

Château de Fourques was named Fourques only in 1572. This name was inherited from Pierre de Moynier, Baron of Fourques and Lord of Celleneuve, who owned the castle at the time.

The Ladie’s Paradise…

Since 1919

« You’ll be a winegrower, my daughter », whispered Lise, the 4th generation of women to run the estate, to her daughter Jeanne, on her way to becoming a winegrower.

For decades, this passion for winegrowing has been passed down from mother to daughter. Each generation enriches the know-how and love of the land. With deep affection and pride, Lise prepared Jeanne to lead the family vineyard

Together, they walked the vineyards, observing every vine, every leaf, sharing the secrets of winemaking and the values that have made their estate famous. Lise taught Jeanne traditional and innovative techniques, the importance of respecting the terroir and the patience needed to create exceptional wines.

Jeanne, a future winegrower, learned each lesson with enthusiasm, well aware of the responsibility and honour that awaited her. She was preparing to uphold this tradition, where passion and dedication come together to give life to authentic, refined wines. Thus, a new generation of women stood ready to write the next chapter of the estate's story.”
